Workshops focus on rangeland pasture management

Rangeland pasture management, dry period destocking priorities and the tools available to help make better informed decisions will be just some of the topics discussed at two workshops in Jerilderie and Conargo next week.
The Nutritional Management of Rangeland Pasture workshops will feature internationally renowned guest speaker, San Jolly, who has over 20 years’ experience as principal consultant of Productive Nutrition. She also conducts landholder engagement, ongoing ruminant nutrition researchand has experience managing a property.
Staff from Murray Local Land Services will also be on-hand to provide agronomic advice and sessions in plant identification.
The workshops are a collaboration between Murray Local Land Services, the Yanco Creek and Tributaries Advisory Council and the Billabong Yanco Steering Committee. They will be held at Conargo Town Hall on 21 March, ‘Old Coree’ Jerilderie on 22 March, both beginning at 3.30pm.
The format will include a paddock walk at a local property, and presentations over dinner on plant identification with Sue Logie (Murray Local Land Services) and best-practice nutritional management of rangeland pastures with San Jolly.
