The Travelling Stock Reserves Review has helped ensure we have a good understanding about the current uses of travelling stock reserves. That includes activities such as droving, grazing in times of drought, recreation and conservation. It also identification of routes that hold significance for many Aboriginal communities.
Consultation was conducted over a 10-week period and included three workshops with for stakeholder organisations held in Dubbo, Corowa and Tamworth. A Travelling Stock Reserves public review consultation paper and general submissions forms were sent to Western Land leaseholders.
Nearly 900 submissions were received, which provided confirmation that the travelling stock reserves continue to be important in a variety of ways.
