Applications still open: seeking chair and potential board member

Applications are still open for vacancies on the board of Murray Local Land Services.

The organisation is looking for enthusiastic and progressive people willing to make a difference to land management to join the local board.

The Murray Local Board currently has a vacancy for the position of Chair and a potential local board member.

Local Land Services Chair, Richard Bull, said Ministerially-appointed local board members were not necessarily required to be landholders, and it was an opportunity for interested people with the right knowledge to play a role on the local board.

“Local Land Services is a model that is well positioned, with boots on the ground, to deliver agricultural production advice, biosecurity, natural resource management, emergency management, sustainable land management and soil conservation services,” he said.

“It’s an organisation established to make a difference to land management in NSW with an aim to improve primary production within healthy landscapes.”

Mr Bull said the organisation was looking for people who could work as part of a team and bring different perspectives to local boards.

“We want to ensure Local Land Services is equipped with the right mix of people to provide strategic direction, improve service delivery and work closely with our regional communities,” he said.

“You may know a friend, colleague or customer that would make a great local board member – someone who can look beyond boundary fence lines and see the bigger picture.

“The way forward relies on the recruitment of the right people, to ensure independent representation, diversity, strong governance and a greater understanding of customer needs and regional service delivery.”
