Locals step up to vacant positions
29 March 2017
Rand farmer and original board member, David Wolfenden, has taken over as acting chair of Murray Local Land Services.
Mr Wolfenden takes over on a temporary basis from Holbrook’s Richard Bull, whom the Minister for Primary Industries, Niall Blair, last week appointed to the position. Mr Blair has since asked Mr Bull to step into the role of acting Chair of Chairs following the decision by Tim de Mestre to step down.
On Friday, Mr Blair said the Chair of Chairs role would transition to part-time, with the responsibility for day-to-day matters delegated to the Executive Director State Operations, David Witherden.
Mr Bull thanked Mr de Mestre for his contribution to the organisation.
“Tim has led a number of key reforms over the past year and I know his time as Chair will leave a lasting legacy on Local Land Services and regional NSW,” he said.
“Tim has built strong relationships with our staff, stakeholders and investors, which has placed Local Land Services in a strong position to achieve future success.
“I am looking forward to the challenge and to working with David Witherden and the Local Land Services team.”
